Well firstly, you are already in the buying present’s frame of mind. You are looking at the websites, visiting the stores, so you know what is out there. This is great for the research stage. While you are out looking at Christmas presents you should always have unusual wedding gifts at the back of your mind.

But don’t buy anything yet… no just yet anyway. The key is to wait until the sales. You know that retailers will discount heavily after Christmas. You will need the gift for next year anyway so why not combine the two experiences.

Nearly everything will be discounted in January anyway so you don’t have to be concerned with the gift being too festive. Mind you, would festive gifts count as unusual wedding gifts? Sure they would!

Don’t be too concerned about spending a minimum amount. Other guests simply won’t be able to spend as much next year anyway. Don’t break the bank… go for creativity instead.

To be creative you need to ‘fuel up’. You fuel up by taking in information so again, this is the perfect time to research and kill two birds with one stone.

Gadget shops are a great place to start. People can’t get enough of gadgets but these shops are targeted for Christmas. In January they will be slashing prices to encourage buyers not knowing that you will be there taking advantage.

It is this time of the when buyers take control so make sure that you do too!

How quick is the website? – Mixed response to this. Some people suggested it was a bit slow while others thought it was fine. We will monitor this with our hosts and if there is an ongoing issue then we will seek to move.
How easy is it to navigate? – Nobody seemed to have issues with this
Is it pleasing on the eye? – Generally, visitors like the simplicity

There were mixed reviews about the forum but we have decided to go with it. We will try it and see what people think.

But where do you start when you look for unusual wedding gifts? I am spending a lot of time looking for them and it is very interesting what you can find out. I want something that will make an impact.

I want her to reply in future “you bought me some great wedding gifts”. Some of the things that I am considering are some things that I am not sure that she will like at the moment.

I think I will be speaking to my soon to be brother in law and go through some unusual wedding gifts that I think will be funny. I would also be nice if they were practical too.
